Hi, I’m jodi (BA AP)

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree as an Ayurvedic Practitioner and also a holistic therapist trained in the principles and practices of Ayurveda, Reiki, Reflexology and Marma Point Therapy (and an unapologetic cat lover). I incorporate and combine these ancient disciplines into all areas of my work to achieve balance in the body, mind and spirit.

I have always been a faithful believer in the proven power of Ayurvedic medicine and energy healing. As an Ayurvedic Practitioner I focus on implementing methods to restore and maintain harmony through the understanding of the unique constitution, or Dosha, of each individual.

It isn’t necessary to have a working knowledge of Ayurveda to make an appointment. I will guide you through the basic principles of identifying your Prakriti- the constitutional elements you’re born with that govern your body, and your Vikruti- the elements that are out of balance and causing distress and disrupting your daily life.

I myself discovered Ayurveda back in 2004 when I began my own journey back in London to solve a sudden onset of digestive issues that plagued me after my 30th birthday. I sought help with my GP at the NHS, and when that didn’t work through the private sector- the only success each of them brought was increasing the severity of my illness. I found a holistic therapist that took one look at me, asked me to stick out my tongue and diagnosed me ailment immediately. She prescribed a series of herbs, initiated a strict elimination diet, recalibrated my lifestyle routine and encouraged me to work less. Within two days I began to feel myself return to a state of normalcy. Since then I have embarked on a lifelong calling to enlighten people on how the simplest tweaks to your daily routine can bring forth great improvements to life.

The science of Ayurveda is rooted in a 4,000 year old medical system that focuses on identifying the root cause of the issue, not the western approach of focusing on and treating symptoms alone. I then work alongside each individual to create a tailor made healthcare program to restore well-being and improve one’s health.

The medical and philosophical belief system of Ayurveda believes in preventative medicine for long term health. Whether you have an acute or chronic condition, my outlook is to take a natural approach and work with you to help guide and support a path to wellness.

Above and beyond addressing imbalance in the body or a pre-existing condition, I emphasize preventative care by cultivating a lifestyle aligned with one’s own natural rhythms and cycles. I integrate modern scientific knowledge with traditional Ayurvedic wisdom to provide personalized care, often combining other holistic tools for a comprehensive treatment plan.

I’m very passionate to investigate and uncover what is leading to disharmony in life. I take the ‘one third’ approach of: 1/3 mind, 1/3 gut health and 1/3 external factors that are usually the combined culprits of disorders.

For seven years I studied under the guidance of esteemed Ayurvedic legends Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Vijith Sandasar, Dr. Alaknanda Rao, Dr. Shailesh Muli, Dr. Sayali Kandakar, Dr. Claudia Welch, Dr. Robert Svoboda, Dr. Jv Hebbar and Ayurvedic Practirioners and mentors Lies van Dam, Tory Hyndman and Coen van der Koen.
